The semaphore is semantically a mutex. Convert it to a real mutex and
fix up a few places where code was relying on semaphore.h to be included
by device.h, as well as the users of the trylock function, as that value
is now reversed.

When runtime PM for platform_bus was added, it allowed for platforms
to customize the runtime PM methods since they are defined as weak
symbols.
This patch allows platforms to also extend the system PM methods with
custom hooks so runtime PM and system PM extensions can be managed
together by custom platform-specific code.

Presently early platform devices suffer from the fact they are unable to
use dev_xxx() calls early on due to dev_name() and others being
unavailable at the time ->probe() is called.
This implements early init_name construction from the matched name/id
pair following the semantics of the late device/driver match. As a
result, matched IDs (inclusive of requested ones) are preserved when the
handoff from the early platform code happens at kobject initialization
time.
Since we still require kmalloc slabs to be available at this point, using
kstrdup() for establishing the init_name works fine. This subsequently
needs to be tested from dev_name() prior to the init_name being cleared
by the driver core. We don't kfree() since others will already have a
handle on the string long before the kobject initialization takes place.
This is also needed to permit drivers to use the clock framework early,
without having to manually construct their own device IDs from the match
id/name pair locally (needed by the early console and timer code on sh
and arm).

This patch (as1351) removes an unnecessary and unwanted assignment
from device_initialize(). The wakeup flags are set to 0 along with
everything else when the device structure is allocated, so we don't
need to do it again. Furthermore, the subsystem might already have
set these flags to their correct values; we don't want to override it.

This patch fix a potential race condition in the driver_bound() function
in the file driver/base/dd.c.
The broadcast of the BUS_NOTIFY_BOUND_DRIVER notifier should be done
after adding the new device to the driver list. Otherwise notifier
listener will fail if they use functions like usb_find_interface().
The patch is against kernel 2.6.33. Please merge it.

The messages from _request_firmware() informing that firmware is
being requested or built-in firmware is going to be used are printed
at KERN_INFO, which produces lots of noise on systems with huge
numbers of AMD CPUs. Reduce the level of these messages to
KERN_DEBUG to get rid of that noise.

Of the three uses of kref_set in the kernel:
One really should be kref_put as the code is letting go of a
reference,
Two really should be kref_init because the kref is being
initialised.
This suggests that making kref_set available encourages bad code.
So fix the three uses and remove kref_set completely.

msmsdcc_enable_clocks() was incorrectly being called depending on
the state of host->clks_on. This means the busclk idle timer was never
being deleted if the clock was already on.. Bogus.
Also fixes a possible double clk disable if the call to
del_timer_sync() in msmsdcc_disable_clocks() raced with
the busclk timer.

Based on an original patch by Brent DeGraaf:
"Previous versions of the SD driver were beset with excessive command
timeouts. These timeouts were silent by default, but happened
frequently, especially during heavy system activity and concurrent
access of two or more SD devices. Worst case, these timeouts would
occasionally hit at the end of a successful write, resulting in false
failures that could adversely affect journaling file systems if timing
was unfortunate. This update tightens the association and timing between
dma transfers and the commands that trigger them by utilizing a new api
implemented in the datamover. In addition, it also fixes a dma cache
coherency issue that was exposed during testing of this fix that
occasionally resulted in card corruption. Processing of results in the
interrupt status routine was modified to process command results prior to
data because overwritten command results were observed during testing
since the data section can result in command issuances of its own.
This change also eliminates the software command timeout, relying entirely
on the hardware version, since the software timeout was found to cause
problems of its own after extensive testing (having hardware timer and
software timers addressing the same issue was found to cause a race
condition under heavy system load)."
This change originally added PROG_DONE handling, which has been split out
into a separate patch. Also on our platform, the data mover driver maintains
coherency to ensure API reliability, so the above mentioned cache corruption
issue was not an issue for us.

As it turns out, all sdcc register writes must be delayed by at
least 3 core clock cycles for the writes to take effect. *sigh*
Also removes the 30us constant delay on clock enable in favor
of a 3 core clock delay.

Based on a patch from Brent DeGraaf:
"The datamover supports channels which can be shared amongst devices.
As a result, the actual data transfer may occur some time after the
request is queued up. Some devices such as mmc host controllers
will timeout if a command is issued too far in advance of the actual
transfer, so if dma to other devices on the same channel is already
in progress or queued up, the added delay can cause pending transfers
to fail before they start. This change extends the api to allow a
user callback to be invoked just before the actual transfer takes
place, thus allowing actions directly associated with the dma
transfer, such as device commands, to be invoked with precise timing.
Without this mechanism, there is no way for a driver to realize
this timing. Also adds a user pointer to the command structure for use
by the caller to reference information that may be needed by the
callback routine for proper identification and processing associated
with that specific request. This change is necessary to fix problems
associated with excessive command timeouts and race conditions in the
mmc driver."
This patch also fixes all the callers of msm_dmov_enqueue_cmd() to
ensure their callback function is NULL.

clocks
It appears that in some cases there may be a delay on the ARM9 in enabling our clock.
As a result, we may put the controller into a bad state. Delay 10us after enabling
clocks to let the peripheral settle. Note - this is all imperical.
Also ensure set_ios() callback grabs the host lock.

fails and go on with event processing.

Introduce a new control for modifying the chroma gain. This allows for user
intervention in abnormal signal conditions cases where the decoder's chroma

This patch enables the anti-alias filter, which was originally enabled for
the saa7113, but the saa7115_init_misc was trampling the value. Without this
patch, there would be visible vertical bands in the chroma.

Rework the logic for tracking the amount of data copied to the VBI buffer, to
address problem found where the video lines are several bytes shifted to the
right (and the leading pixels in the first line rendered are garbage). This
would occur because the copy function would advance the pointer when detecting
headers, but the caller would not adjust the length actually copied.

Increase the packets per URB count from 40 to 64. I suspect that whoever was
looking at the usbsnoop captures saw "0x40" packets and mistook it for "40".
As a result of this change, I can see a 25% reduction in the number of
interrupts generated via powertop.
