2016-07-21powerpc: Move 32-bit probe() machine to later in the boot processBenjamin Herrenschmidt
This converts all the 32-bit platforms to use the expanded device-tree which is a pretty mechanical change. Unlike 64-bit, the 32-bit kernel didn't rely on platform initializations to setup the MMU since it sets it up entirely before probe_machine() so the move has comparatively less consequences though it's a bigger patch. 2014-09-25powerpc: make of_device_ids constUwe Kleine-König
of_device_ids (i.e. compatible strings and the respective data) are not supposed to change at runtime. All functions working with of_device_ids provided by <linux/of.h> work with const of_device_ids. This allows to mark all struct of_device_id const, too. While touching these line also put the __init annotation at the right position where necessary. 2013-01-03POWERPC: drivers: remove __dev* attributes.Greg Kroah-Hartman
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. 2012-09-12powerpc/fsl-pci: Unify pci/pcie initialization codeJia Hongtao
We unified the Freescale pci/pcie initialization by changing the fsl_pci to a platform driver. In previous PCI code architecture the initialization routine is called at board_setup_arch stage. Now the initialization is done in probe function which is architectural better. Also It's convenient for adding PM support for PCI controller in later patch. Now we registered pci controllers as platform devices. So we combine two initialization code as one platform driver. 2012-06-16powerpc/PCI: move fixup hooks from __init to __devinitSebastian Andrzej Siewior
The fixups are executed once the pci-device is found which is during boot process so __init seems fine as long as the platform does not support hotplug. However it is possible to remove the PCI bus at run time and have it rediscovered again via "echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/rescan" and this will call the fixups again. Currently it doesn't matter where the mdio nodes are placed, but with power management support (i.e. when sleep = <> properties will take effect), mdio nodes placement will become important: mdio controller is a part of the ethernet block, so the mdio nodes should be placed correctly. Otherwise we may wrongly assume that MDIO controllers are available during sleep. 2008-10-22powerpc: Move memory size print into common show_cpuinfo for 32-bitBecky Bruce
Most of the platforms were printing the size of the memory in their show_cpuinfo implementations. This moves that to the common show_cpuinfo, so that all 32-bit platforms will now print the size of memory. I also update the code to deal with the fact that total_memory is now a phys_addr_t. Support for the SBC610 VPX Single Board Computer from GE Fanuc (PowerPC MPC8641D). A number of MPC8641D based route interrupts for on-board interrupts through a FPGA based interrupt controller, which is chained with the MPC8641D's mpic. Support for the SBC610 VPX Single Board Computer from GE Fanuc (PowerPC MPC8641D). Fixup to correctly reconfigure USB, provided by an NEC uPD720101, after device is reset. This requires a set of chip specific registers in the devices configuration space to be correctly written, enabling all ports and switching the device to use an external 48-MHz Oscillator.
