2017-02-07drm/exynos: g2d: change platform driver name to 'exynos-drm-g2d'Tobias Jakobi
The current name is 's5p-g2d', which is identical with the driver name of the old V4L2 driver in media/platform. This is probably due to the DRM driver being based on the V4L2 driver when it was initially created. Still the clashing of driver names is confusing, so rename it to something in line with the other DRM subdrivers. 2017-01-31drm/exynos: g2d: prevent integer overflow inJoonyoung Shim
The size computations done in the ioctl function use an integer. If userspace submits a request with req->cmd_nr or req->cmd_buf_nr set to INT_MAX, the integer computations overflow later, leading to potential (kernel) memory corruption. Prevent this issue by enforcing a limit on the number of submitted commands, so that we have enough headroom later for the size computations. Note that this change has no impact on the currently available users in userspace, like e.g. libdrm/exynos. While at it, also make a comment about the size computation more detailed. 2016-10-01drm/exynos: g2d: use autosuspend mode for PM runtimeTobias Jakobi
The runqueue worker currently issues a get() when a new node is processed, and a put() once a node is completed. The corresponding suspend and resume calls currently only do clock gating, but with the upcoming introduction of IOMMU runpm also the corresponding IOMMU domain gets enabled (for get()) and disabled (for put()). This introduces performance regressions with we mitigate here. Switch PM runtime to autosuspend, such that clock gating and IOMMU control only happens when the engine is idle for a 'long' time. 2016-10-01drm/exynos: g2d: wait for engine to finishTobias Jakobi
While the engine works on a runqueue node it does memory access to the buffers associated with that node. Make sure that the engine is idle when g2d_close() and/or g2d_remove() are called, i.e. buffer associated with the process (for g2d_close()), or all buffers (for g2d_remove()) can be safely be unmapped. We have to take into account that the engine might be in an undefined state, i.e. it hangs and doesn't become idle. In this case, we issue a hardware reset to return the hardware and the driver context into a proper state. The change, i.e. merging the sleep and runpm operations, produces a deadlock situation: (1) exynos_g2d_exec_ioctl() prepares a runqueue node and calls g2d_exec_runqueue() (2) g2d_exec_runqueue() calls g2d_dma_start() which gets runtime PM sync (3) runtime PM core calls g2d_runtime_resume() (4) g2d_runtime_resume() calls g2d_exec_runqueue(), which loops back to (2) Due to mutexes that are in place, a deadlock situation is created. 2016-08-04dma-mapping: use unsigned long for dma_attrsKrzysztof Kozlowski
The dma-mapping core and the implementations do not change the DMA attributes passed by pointer. Thus the pointer can point to const data. However the attributes do not have to be a bitfield. Instead unsigned long will do fine: 1. This is just simpler. Both in terms of reading the code and setting attributes. Instead of initializing local attributes on the stack and passing pointer to it to dma_set_attr(), just set the bits. 2. It brings safeness and checking for const correctness because the attributes are passed by value. 2016-03-01drm/exynos: use real device for DMA-mapping operationsMarek Szyprowski
This patch changes device pointer provided to all calls to DMA-mapping subsystem from the virtual exynos-drm 'device' to the real device pointer of one of the CRTC devices (decon, fimd or mixer). This way no more hacks will be needed to configure proper DMA-mapping address space on the common virtual exynos-drm device. This change also removes the need for some hacks in IOMMU related code. It also finally solves the problem of Exynos DRM driver not working on ARM64 architecture, which provides noop-based DMA-mapping operations for virtual platform devices. The size check was incomplete. It only computed the size of area of the drawing rectangle and checked if the size still fit inside the buffer. The correct check is to compute the position of the last byte that the G2D engine is going to access and then check if that position is still contained in the buffer. This patch fixes a null pointer dereference issue incurred by calling g2d_remove when exynos_drm_platform_probe is failed. cmdlist_pool of g2d is allocated when g2d sub driver is probed. Currently the DRM_IOCTL_EXYNOS_G2D_GET_VER ioctl always succeeds, even if no G2D support is available. Let the ioctl fail when this is the case, so that userspace can accurately probe for G2D support. This also fixes the exynos tests in libdrm. Both exynos_g2d_set_cmdlist_ioctl and exynos_g2d_exec_ioctl don't check if the G2D was succesfully probe. If that is not the case, then g2d_priv is just NULL and extracting 'dev' from it in the next step is going to produce a kernel oops. Add proper checks and return ENODEV if the G2D is not available. 2013-03-20drm/exynos: Check g2d cmd list for g2d restrictionsYoungJun Cho
This patch checks command list from user for g2d restrictions. For now, g2d driver wasn't considered for G2D hardware restrictions properly. The below is the restrictions to G2D hardware and this patch considers them. - width or height value in the command list has to be in valid range (1 to 8000 pixels) - The requested area should be less than buffer size. - right has to be bigger than left. - bottom has to be bigger than top. 2013-03-20drm/exynos: Fix G2D core malfunctioning issueYoungJun Cho
This patch fixes G2D core malfunctioning issue once g2d dma is started. Without 'DMA_HOLD_CMD_REG' register setting, there is only one interrupt after the execution to all command lists have been completed. And that induces watchdog. So this patch sets 'LIST_HOLD' command to the register so that command execution interrupt can be occured whenever each command list execution is finished. This patch clears node object type in G2D unmap cmdlist. The obj_type of cmdlist node has to be cleared in g2d_unmap_cmdlist_gem() so that the node can be reused in g2d_map_cmdlist_gem().
