The pktcdvd driver uses proper locking and does not need the
BKL in the ioctl and llseek functions of the character device,
so kill both. Moving the compat_ioctl handling from common code
into the driver itself fixes build problems when CONFIG_BLOCK is
disabled.

Order the debugfs statistics correctly. The values displayed through a
seq_printf() statement should be in the same order as the names in the
format string.
In the 'Lookups' line, objects created ('crt=') and lookups timed out
('tmo=') have their values transposed.

When we look into pagemap using page-types with option -p, the value of
pfn for hugepages looks wrong (see below.) This is because pte was
evaluated only once for one vma although it should be updated for each
hugepage. This patch fixes it.

One hugepage contains 1 head page and 511 tail pages in x86_64 and each
two lines represent each hugepage. Voffset and offset mean virtual
address and physical address in the page unit, respectively. The
different hugepages should not have the same offset value.
With this patch applied:

More info:
- This patch modifies walk_page_range()'s hugepage walker. But the
change only affects pagemap_read(), which is the only caller of hugepage
callback.
- Without this patch, hugetlb_entry() callback is called per vma, that
doesn't match the natural expectation from its name.
- With this patch, hugetlb_entry() is called per hugepte entry and the
callback can become much simpler.

Commit 148f948ba877f4d3cdef036b1ff6d9f68986706a (vfs: Introduce new
helpers for syncing after writing to O_SYNC file or IS_SYNC inode) broke
the raw driver.
We now call through generic_file_aio_write -> generic_write_sync ->
vfs_fsync_range. vfs_fsync_range has:
if (!fop || !fop->fsync) {
ret = -EINVAL;
goto out;
}
But drivers/char/raw.c doesn't set an fsync method.
We have two options: fix it or remove the raw driver completely. I'm
happy to do either, the fact this has been broken for so long suggests it
is rarely used.
The patch below adds an fsync method to the raw driver. My knowledge of
the block layer is pretty sketchy so this could do with a once over.
If we instead decide to remove the raw driver, this patch might still be
useful as a backport to 2.6.33 and 2.6.32.

If we have preventing lock, cifs should overwrite file_lock structure
with info about preventing lock. If we haven't preventing lock, cifs
should leave it unchanged except for the lock type (change it to F_UNLCK).

The default reservation size of 4 (32-bit windows) is a bit too ambitious.
Scale it back to 16 bits (resv_level=2). I have been testing various sizes
on a 4-node cluster which runs a mixed workload that is heavily threaded.
With a 256MB local alloc, I get *roughly* the following levels of average file
fragmentation:
resv_level=0 70%
resv_level=1 21%
resv_level=2 23%
resv_level=3 24%
resv_level=4 60%
resv_level=5 did not test
resv_level=6 60%
resv_level=2 seemed like a good compromise between not letting windows be
too small, but not so big that heavier workloads will immediately suffer
without tuning.
This patch also change the behavior of directory reservations - they now
track file reservations. The previous compromise of giving directory
windows only 8 bits wound up fragmenting more at some window sizes because
file allocations had smaller unused windows to poach from.

I have observed that the current size of 8M gives us pretty poor
fragmentation on multi-threaded workloads which do lots of writes.
Generally, I can increase the size of local alloc windows and observe a
marked decrease in fragmentation, even up and beyond window sizes of 512
megabytes. This makes sense for a couple reasons - larger local alloc means
more room for reservation windows. On multi-node workloads the larger local
alloc helps as well because we don't have to do window slides as often.
Also, I removed the OCFS2_DEFAULT_LOCAL_ALLOC_SIZE constant as it is no
longer used and the comment above it was out of date.
To test fragmentation, I used a workload which launched 4 threads that did
4k writes into a series of about 140 alternating files.
With resv_level=2, and a 4k/4k file system I observed the following average
fragmentation for various localalloc= parameters:
localalloc= avg. fragmentation
8 48
32 16
64 10
120 7
On larger cluster sizes, the difference is more dramatic.
The new default size top out at 256M, which we'll only get for cluster
sizes of 32K and above.

This patch pulls the local alloc sizing code into localalloc.c and provides
a callout to it from ocfs2_fill_super(). Behavior is essentially unchanged
except that I correctly calculate the maximum local alloc size. The old code
in ocfs2_parse_options() calculated the max size as:
ocfs2_local_alloc_size(sb) * 8
which is correct, in bits. Unfortunately though the option passed in is in
megabytes. Ultimately, this bug made no real difference - the shrink code
would catch a too-large size and bring it down to something reasonable.
Still, it's less than efficient as-is.

I made a V2 of this patch on top of my patches for VFS switches.
All the changes were due to change in some offsets.
rename - change name of file or directory
size[4] Trename tag[2] fid[4] newdirfid[4] name[s]
size[4] Rrename tag[2]
The rename message is used to change the name of a file, possibly moving it
to a new directory. The 9P wstat message can only rename a file within the
same directory.

I made a V2 of this patch on top of my patches for VFS switches. The
change was adding v9fs_statfs pointer to v9fs_super_ops_dotl
instead of v9fs_super_ops.
statfs - get file system statistics
size[4] Tstatfs tag[2] fid[4]
size[4] Rstatfs tag[2] type[4] bsize[4] blocks[8] bfree[8] bavail[8]
files[8] ffree[8] fsid[8] namelen[4]
The statfs message is used to request file system information returned
by the statfs(2) system call, which is used by df(1) to report file
system and disk space usage.

setup_leaf_for_split needs to drop the path and search again, and has
checks to see if the item we want to split changed size. But, it misses
the case where the leaf changed and now has enough room for the item
we want to insert.
This adds an extra check to make sure the leaf really needs splitting
before we call btrfs_split_leaf(), which keeps us from trying to split
a leaf with a single item.
btrfs_split_leaf() will blindly split the single item leaf, leaving us
with one good leaf and one empty leaf and then a crash.

This creates the reference to a new snapshot in the same commit as the
snapshot itself. This avoids the need for a second commit in order for a
snapshot to be persistent, and also avoids the problem of "leaking" a
new snapshot tree root if the host crashes before the second commit takes
place.
It is not at all clear to me why it wasn't always done this way. If there
is still a reason for the two-stage {create,finish}_pending_snapshots()
approach I'm missing something! :)
I've been running this for a couple weeks under pretty heavy usage (a few
snapshots per minute) without obvious problems.

Everytime we start a new flushing thread, we init the waitqueue if there isn't a
flushing thread running. The problem with this is we check
space_info->flushing, which we clear right before doing a wake_up on the
flushing waitqueue, which causes problems if we init the waitqueue in the middle
of clearing the flushing flagh and calling wake_up. This is hard to hit, but
the code is wrong anyway, so init the flushing/allocating waitqueue when
creating the space info and let it be. I haven't seen the panic since I've been
using this patch. Thanks,

Pagecache pages should be allocated with __page_cache_alloc, so they
obey pagecache memory policies.
add_to_page_cache_lru is exported, so it should be used. Benefits over
using a private pagevec: neater code, 128 bytes fewer stack used, percpu
lru ordering is preserved, and finally don't need to flush pagevec
before returning so batching may be shared with other LRU insertions.

In initial design, walk_page_range() was designed just for walking page
table and it didn't require mmap_sem. Now, find_vma() etc.. are used
in walk_page_range() and we need mmap_sem around it.
This patch adds mmap_sem around walk_page_range().
Because /proc/<pid>/pagemap's callback routine use put_user(), we have
to get rid of it to do sane fix.
